Tushita Gallery and event space is an organic extension of the tea house, with special focus on cultural exchange. Tea is our starting point to engage with art, sound, movement, and meditative experience. Events and exhibitions are offered throughout the year, to gather, listen, observe, and participate — always in connection with tea and its cultural context.
Tushita Gallery is a space for both emerging and established art that is matching the values of tea: harmony, respect, purity, and stillness.
Seasonal exhibitions explore nature, ritual, sound, movement, and cultural practices. Rather than presenting art as a consumable good, Tushita gallery invites all visitors to engage in their own rhythm.
Adjacent to the tea house and its philosophy, the Gallery allows for an even closer bond between the tea and art worlds.
Tea culture at Tushita evolves through encounters, shared experiences, and ongoing exploration.
Ceremonies, gatherings, and cultural formats invite guests to engage with tea in ways that are open, contemporary, and accessible — whether through observation, participation, or simple presence.
Zazen is the simple practice of sitting upright in silence. Open meditation is pure presence, allowing participants to drop off expectations and preconceived notions towards the world and the self.
The sound of the flute has long been connected to meditation and contemplative practice. Zen flute experiences explore breath, tone, and silence as elements that deepen presence and perception.
Qi Gong is the ancient Chinese Art of Body cultivation. It uses gentle body movements and the breath to support awareness of the body and the flow of energy.
Matcha preparation is both craft and ritual. Through careful preparation and tasting, matcha reveals its depth, texture, and cultural significance within the broader context of tea tradition.
Tea ceremonies explore tea as a social ritual, inviting all participants to meet and interact peacefully. Rooted in Japanese and Chinese tea cultures, these practices invite a slower rhythm and an appreciation of tea as a refined cultural form.
Sound experiences offer a way to encounter tea culture through listening and resonance. Using sound as a medium, these practices create space for stillness, awareness, and quiet reflection.

We invite you to book a private tea tasting or ceremony for a wide variety of occasions – as a corporate event, a birthday or wedding present.
When we drink tea together, we meet face to face as humans and experience harmony, respect, purity and stillness, as have others before us for centuries.
As a ritual performance, tea ceremonies allow us to connect to tradition in a very real way, to experience philosophy with our own bodies.
“INSPIRED BY TRADITIONAL TEA HOUSES, TUSHITA GALLERY HAS BEEN EXPRESSLY DESIGNED TO ACCOMMODATE TEA RITUALS. FOR CEREMONIES, THE ROOM IS LAID OUT WITH TATAMI MATS, INDIVIDUAL CUSHIONS ARE PROVIDED.
Japanese tea ceremony, also known as Chado or Sado, is a ritualized traditional form of tea preparation. The tea used in the ceremony is always Matcha, prepared either as Koicha (strong tea) or Usucha (light tea).
Our host Aya, a seasoned practicioner of the Urasenke school will prepare Matcha wearing traditional kimono and using vintage tea utensils. A sweet is served alongside.
Private ceremonies last 1.5 to 2.5 hours, depending on the number of participants. A vegan meal from Tushita Tea House is also available, to be booked separately on request.
Gongfu Cha is one classic Chinese method of tea degustation. Tea is prepared as a succession of several infusions using specialized tools, such as lidded bowls, clay teapots and very small cups.
The main point of Gongfu Cha is not philosophy, but to experience tea with the senses and to enjoy spending time together. Both taste and aroma of tea change over several infusions. To highlight these changes, a high leaf-to-water ratio is used so that all the nuances can be perceived.
Alongside exhibitions, Tushita Gallery hosts a programme of events and gatherings throughout the year.
These include:
Each event is designed as an invitation to experience tea and culture beyond the everyday —
